Steamboat Springs - Pro Rodeo Series

Steamboat Springs Pro Rodeo Series

The Steamboat Springs Pro Rodeo Series is held every Friday and Saturday throughout the summer. However, dates are extended during the 4th of July week, and you can attend the rodeo from July 3rd to July 6th. The rodeo is an integral part of the Steamboat culture and dates back over 100 years. 

Held at the Brent Romnick Arena, rodeo events include everything from team roping to bareback riding, steer wrestling to bull riding, and much more! Live music and BBQ start at 6 p.m., and the rodeo events begin at 7:30 p.m. On July 4th, live music and BBQ will start at 5 p.m. and the rodeo will begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available to purchase online. 

Pancake Breakfast and Parade

Steamboat Springs puts on a lively Fourth of July parade as part of the Cowboys’ Roundup Days event. Before the parade, the Lion’s Club will host a free pancake breakfast from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Little Toots Park to kick off the festivities.

The parade will begin at 10 a.m. on Lincoln Street and 10th. Each year, the parade has a specific theme, and participants include local businesses and organizations, students, and other groups. Floats are judged based on creativity, originality, and spirit. Don’t miss this exciting event!

Jumpin’ and Jammin’ Ski Jumping Extravaganza

An event unique to Steamboat, the Jumpin’ and Jammin Ski Jumping Extravaganza is a must-see if you’re in town for the holiday. See ski jumpers launch from the Olympic Ski Jump at Colorado’s oldest ski resort. Pack your lawn chairs and snacks, and get ready for a good time at Howelson Hill! 

The main event, the Elimination Jump Competition, will be held on July 4th from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. If you’d like to see the athletes prepping for the main event, ski jump training will be held on July 2nd from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., and the first competition will be held on July 3rd from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

In town, you’ll find Old Town Hot Springs, complete with hot springs-fed pools and two waterslides. It’s an excellent option for families. Strawberry Park Hot Springs offers a different vibe. This gorgeous spring is nestled against the hillside, surrounded by trees, mountains, and the passing river.
