Steamboat Ski Resort’s opening day falls on the day before Thanksgiving nearly every year. The opening date for the 2025/26 season falls on Saturday, November 22 this year, a day that is eagerly anticipated by winter sports enthusiasts and locals alike. As the mountain starts to become layered in snow, skiers and snowboarders from far and wide gather to inaugurate another thrilling season on the slopes. All passes, including the Ikon, will be valid for opening day.
The Season’s Grand Opening
The lifts start spinning at 8:30am, but festivities start at 7:30. Get there early to enjoy complimentary Powder Day Donuts and mimosas.
