Steamboat Springs Dog Sledding with Grizzle-T Dog & Sled Works

It’s fun to walk around and explore Steamboat Springs once the winter snow has covered the area, but there is no comparison to seeing the winter wilderness with the help of our friendly canine companions at Steamboat Springs Dog Sledding. If you have not experienced a dog sled ride, you are in for quite the treat! This local company will place you on top of a dogsled, mushing a pack of professionally trained Alaskan huskies. These dogs enjoy the thrill of the ride just as much as you will!

Mush Your Own Dog Team

Grizzle-T Dog & Sled Works will show you how you can mush your own team of huskies on an exciting journey. Once you have the basics down, you will be ready to take on the winter landscape.

The half-day adventure on the West Trail is one of the most popular bookings and will take you across 12.5 miles of backcountry trails. The dogsled can hold two adults—one mushing, the other enjoying the ride. There is a stopping point halfway through the trail where you can take a break and switch positions. Children under 80 pounds can also ride on the sled and even help drive! The half-day adventure is four hours in length with the sled ride being approximately two hours long.

The South Trail is a shorter but just as exciting ride around the Stagecoach Reservoir. While the trail is only 8 miles long, it will take about an hour and a half for you to enjoy the entirety of your ride! The South Trail is closed during the majority of January and February as part of the pack will be training for professional races.
