Steamboat Opening Day

Steamboat Ski Resort’s opening day falls on the day before Thanksgiving nearly every year. The opening date for the 2023/24 season falls on November 22 this year, a day that is eagerly anticipated by winter sports enthusiasts and locals alike. As the crisp mountain air fills with excitement, skiers and snowboarders from far and wide gather to inaugurate another thrilling season on the slopes.

The lifts start spinning at 8:30am, but festivities start at 7:30. Get there early to enjoy complimentary Powder Day Donuts and mimosas, and you’ll snag a free Opening Day t-shirt and Smartwool socks if you’re one of the first 100 people on the gondola. There will also be fun activities throughout the day, including hidden prizes on the mountain, one of which is a FREE ticket to Steamboat’s WinterWonderGrass in March!
